Features of the Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally
The V4 Granturismo engine used in the Multistrada V4 Rally has the same displacement of 1158 cc as the other Multistrada V4 models and the new Diavel V4 for 2023, with no changes to the bore or stroke, but it features an “extended” version of the cylinder deactivation system used on those machines. It is designed to operate smoothly at low revs, when less power is required, cutting fuel and spark to the rear cylinders to improve economy and emissions.
Comfort is one of the main reasons for the additional size and mass.The higher and wider windshield provides greater weather protection, and the rear carriers (side bags and top case) are positioned farther back to provide more space for the passenger.
Since the V4 Rally is physically larger than the base V4, thanks to its larger fuel capacity and taller, wider fairing screen, it is also a heavier vehicle.With a total weight of 260 kg with fuel, it is 20 kg more than the standard Multi V4.

While the alloy monocoque frame of the V4 Rally is borrowed from the standard Multistrada V4, the suspension and wheels are new.The spoked wheels are the same size as the alloys on the standard Multistrada V4, 19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear, but they are mounted on higher Marzocchi suspensions with longer travel and the semi-active damping control system Skyhook Evolution by Ducati.The forks have an additional 30mm of travel, while the rear gains 20mm, for a total of 200mm of movement at each end, while the ground clearance has increased to 230mm.
